RULE HIGHLIGHTS
- No off-sides or icing
- No body contact
- Only captains and assistant captains can discuss calls with the referees
- Procedure for Start of games
- 5 minute warm up time will run down
- Home team is responsible for providing 2 pucks for the game and the away team is responsible for switching jerseys if there is a jersey conflict
- Teams must send their starting lineup onto the floor for the opening face-off
- 20 minutes will be put up on the clock and time will start at the drop of the puck
- 6 players are required to start the game. If either team cannot field this minimum amount by the end of warm-up:
- teams can use their time out if they choose and there will be no more consequences if their 6th player arrives before the end of the time out
- the clock will continue to count down from 2o minutes down to 15 minutes
- after 5 minutes have elapsed, the game will be forfeited by the team that still doesnt have the required minimum amount of players. The floor time will go to the team that was forfeited against and the referees will be allowed to leave
- if the 6th player arrives before the 5 minutes counts down, the game can start from that point and the offending team will be assess a 2 minute minor for delay of game.
- Length of game
- Two 20 minute (stop time) periods during regulation
- 5 minute warm-up and 1 minute break between halves
- Overtime: 4 minute running time, 3-on-3 (changes only on the fly) followed by 3 player shootout and then a sudden death shootout if necessary (OT in playoffs will be 4-on-4, then 3-on-3 then shootout). Home team chooses if they want to shoot first in the shootout.
- Any game in which there is a six (6) or more goal differential may revert to running time with the approval of the Team Representative of the Team which is losing (e.g. if a Team is losing by 6 or more goals in the first or second period the Team Rep may elect to move to running time at any point during the game). If the game is being played in an unsafe manner, the referee may overrule this decision at any point and switch to running time or end the game.
- If a team is playing without a goalie, the game will automatically end once there is a six (6) goal differential

- Goalie Interference (Players can be in the crease so long as they don’t physically interfere with the goalie)
- Offsetting penalties results in continued 4 on 4 play
- Option to call Slashing the stick as a 2 minute minor penalty
- Any type of delay of game in the last 2 minutes of the game is a penalty shot (pushing net off, falling on puck, illegal equipment, illegal substitution etc). During other times of the game, shooting the puck over the glass results in the defending team not being able to change.
- Game misconduct for being the third man in during a fight or for being instigator/aggressor in a fight
- 5 minute major penalties (minimum)
- Faceoffs after a penalty – If a team takes a penalty, the faceoff will be in their zone. If both teams take offsetting penalties on the same play, the faceoff will be at centre.
- An attacking player can be in the goal crease provided he/she doesn’t interfere with the goalie. A minor penalty can be assessed for any interference with the opposing teams goaltender.
- 1 timeout will be allowed per team per game
- Suspensions for fighting, match and major penalties and gross misconducts with fines being deducted from the suspension deposit
- Fines for playing with ineligible players or forfeiting of games with money being deducted from the suspension deposit
- $200 fine to any team found to be drinking alcohol at the rink (second offense results in removal from the league)
- Teams will also have the option of carrying over their left over suspension deposits to next season and having it applied to that years league fees.
